We have made two excellent improvements here at PD Woodcraft. First we upgraded our dust extraction to a bigger, more efficient system...then we automated it! One touch of a button and all systems are go! Second, we installed two tracks for our Lucas Mill to run along. These help the mill to run smoothly and squarely and are an excellent complement to our automatic push/pull mechanism. Now the mill runs back and forth from the push of a lever rather than the muscle force of an operator.

Pete used his pantograph (also known as his seat saddling machine) to make these curved drawer fronts. He later used his vaccum system to glue a lovely book-matched veneer to the fronts.
Email me at pdwoodcraft [a] bigpond.com to receive notices about new packs of timber we have for sale.
The folks from Wild Trout Downunder and the Gordon Hat Shoppe kindly sent us this photo from their store in Gordon, Victoria (off M8 between Ballarat and Melbourne). It features a pedestal we turned for them and one of the many hat blocks we have made for them. They design and make some fantastic hats for both men and women. Check out their range at www.tweedwild.com.au. Pete did a beautiful job veneering these curved counters for a UFS Dispensary. He can veneer all sorts of shapes and sizes. Pete has recently developed a new chair called the Mollison chair. He has made samples in Elm and Redgum and oh are they beautiful. Polished the grain comes out looking truly magnificent as you can see in the picture of the Redgum chair here. These are sturdy chairs and comfortable with their shapely back slats - I even find them comfortable at eight months pregnant! The seats can be plain or saddled or even upholstered in your choice of fabric. Some friends of ours recently hung new curtains in their house. They are going to get a set of Mollison chairs in Elm and have the seats upholstered in their leftover curtain fabric. The chairs are going to look great ! |
