An exciting new development here at PD Woodcraft has been to become agents for an excellent two-part epoxy system known as the West System. It includes various resins, fillers, fast, slow and super-slow hardeners. An excellent epoxy to work with, we have found so many uses for it in our manufacturing and are sure you will too. Call Pete to discuss how it might be of use to you.

Relax and spread out with your own redwood table.
Picture
Made from a redwood slab and chunky redwood timber, this table and bench seats is perfect for the outdoors. In California redwood is often used for decking as it weathers well. When it dries redwood timber is surprisingly lightweight. This table measures 3.2m in length and is much bigger than your average dining room table.

The redwood used in the table is from local gardens making table settings and other furniture made from this timber of particular significance to local folks.

Slab Handling 05/07/2010

Pete put together this vaccum pump and suction pad sytem to overcome the problem of handling big items such as these slabs. It works great - especially when Pete is on his own.

Elm Table Column 03/02/2010

Picture
Elm is such a beautiful wood. Pete carved two of these table columns for a customer. The finished table will have feet under the columns and a table top placed above the columns. Very fancy!

Pete turned these finials on his wood lathe. They came out  beautifully. I think most of us wouldn't mind curtains hanging from rods with these on the ends!
