Either way, a beautiful item.
Pete handcarved this for the top of a pedestal, but it is just the sort of job which the five-axis CNC router can tackle.
Either way, a beautiful item.

Our latest order for Mollison chairs is ready to leave the workshop. These are unpolished - as requested by the customer - and we are also able to supply polished chairs. Although these have a plain seat we are also able to supply chairs with a saddled seat or upholstered in calico (ready for a final cover from your upholsterer). The chairs were made from jarrah - an excellent choice. We are also able to make them from iron bark, redgum, elm, oak - you name it!
Looking for large dimension timber? Pete recently milled this Aspen (Cottonwood) into huge 8x8 and 6x6 beams. Use them as features in your home or for large turned or carved work.
An exciting new development here at PD Woodcraft has been to become agents for an excellent two-part epoxy system known as the West System. It includes various resins, fillers, fast, slow and super-slow hardeners. An excellent epoxy to work with, we have found so many uses for it in our manufacturing and are sure you will too. Call Pete to discuss how it might be of use to you.
Relax and spread out with your own redwood table. Made from a redwood slab and chunky redwood timber, this table and bench seats is perfect for the outdoors. In California redwood is often used for decking as it weathers well. When it dries redwood timber is surprisingly lightweight. This table measures 3.2m in length and is much bigger than your average dining room table. The redwood used in the table is from local gardens making table settings and other furniture made from this timber of particular significance to local folks.
Pete turned these finials on his wood lathe. They came out beautifully. I think most of us wouldn't mind curtains hanging from rods with these on the ends!
